Several locations around the metro area, including the Jeffco County Sherriff’s headquarters and Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge will be collecting unused or expired prescription drugs. Find a location near you on this site: https://takebackday.dea.gov/
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue.
According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants, and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives in 2019. The survey also showed that a majority of misused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.

For both seasoned gardeners and those who are dipping their toes into gardening. Whether you have a yard or just a container to grow things in. Bring your seeds and seedlings to swap. No seeds, no problem!
Please prepackage your seeds for sharing in an envelope, folded paper, or bag of some sort to avoid handling shared utensils, etc. If you have a lot of seeds to share please divide them up in prepackaged portions.
Bring out the artist in you – for kids and adults alike – and make your (temporary) mark on the sidewalks at Sunset Park. It’s Earth Day, so chalk out something that expresses gratitude for our planet? Or, whatever inspires you in the moment! Chalk provided.
We’ll have supplies on hand for the kiddos to sow their own seeds in small pots they can take home and watch grow! Supplies provided, but feel free to bring some to share.
One of our Eiber neighbors will be bringing her very friendly pet goat and horse for neighbors to meet. She’s also happy to answer any questions.
While we’re in the park, let’s also take some time to clean up any litter that’s accumulated. Bring your own gloves and trash grabber if you have one. Other supplies such as trash bags and receptacles will be provided. All trash and recycling will be disposed of responsibly.
After being cooped up we’re all likely craving a little connection, community, and conversation.
