The following is only a partial list of accomplishments and events that members of the Eiber Neighborhood Association (ENA) have been involved in on behalf of the Eiber neighborhood.

2001 – Eiber Neighborhood Plan endorsed by City Council
2002 thru 2004 – RTD West Corridor Environmental Impact Study – ENA members attend dozens of meetings during the EIS phase of the West Corridor design process, submit hundreds of comments, pressure RTD for more outreach opportunities with the community
2003 – Eiber Neighborhood Entry Sign – Community Development Block Grant (DCBG) request submitted to install entry sign at 10th and Wadsworth
2004
Garrison St Improvements - committee identifies desired improvements such as sidewalks, lighting, light rail design elements, traffic calming, storm water runoff
Richey Park NPP grant - awarded for landscaping improvements around playground, ENA provides volunteer labor
eiberhood.org website is launched
Colfax Overlay Zone planning involvement
2005
West Corridor Station Design Groups – RTD sponsors forums at behest of Eiber and Two Creeks neighborhood groups to elicit feedback on LRT station designs
West Colfax Revitalization Plan – ENA members attend city workshops
2006 – Sunset Park Expansion - ENA endorses efforts of Trust for Public Land, City, and Jeffco Open Space to acquire property to expand Sunset Park east to Kipling St, doubling the size of the park
2007
RTD Detailed Design meetings – RTD “value engineering” cost reductions impact quality and scope of original design
Station Area Plans for Wads, Oak – ENA sponsors meetings with City staff to develop plans for station areas
Sixth to Wadsworth Interchange – ENA sponsors meetings with CDOT and City to scope out improvements to interchange
2008
Garrison St Electronic Speed Signs - ENA submits NPP grant request, contribute funding through community garage sale
Garrison Station Area Plan – ENA sponsors meetings with City staff to develop plans for residential area around Garrison Station
2009 – Garrison Sidewalks – ENA submits funding request under City’s Missing Links Program to install sidewalk on east side of Garrison St from 8th Ave to 14th Ave
2010
13th Ave Traffic Study – City Council endorses Eiber and Two Creeks neighborhoods’ request to baseline and study traffic pattern changes resulting from Light Rail development
RTD construction – ENA engages RTD to mitigate impacts to neighborhood during construction phase
2011
RTD LRT Crossing Signal agreement – ENA/Two Creeks petition Public Utilities Commission, endorse RTD request for “quiet crossings” in residential zones, negotiate compromise with blind advocacy groups resulting in the current modulated design to reduce volume on crossing bells
RTD Kipling St bridge drainage - ENA petitions RTD for relief of flooding conditions made worse by LRT development; RTD makes modest improvements
City Zoning Ordinance Review – ENA members participate in Citizen’s Advisory Committee review of zoning ordinance; city incorporates several ENA proposals into ordinance
2012
Sunset Park improvements – ENA applies for NPP grant for playground improvements
Eiber Neighborhood accepted into Sustainable Neighborhood Program – City establishes ground-breaking program to promote sustainability, inspiring similar programs in Denver, Boulder and other cities around the country, Eiber is first neighborhood to join
Eiber Community Garden planning commences as first Sustainable Neighborhood project
2013
RTD W Line opens – ENA sponsors community activities at Wadsworth, Garrison, and Oak stations to celebrate opening of the W Line
RTD Operations efforts – ENA members continue advocacy for mitigation measures of impacts from light rail as it transitions into operations
Eiber Community Garden breaks ground – ENA members provide volunteer labor
Resilience Circles – Eiber Resilience Circle debuts as a project under Lakewood’s Sustainability Program
Eiber Heritage project – ENA member surveys housing stock in Eiber neighborhood and produces study of development patterns over 100 years of Eiber history for Sustainability Program credits
Bike Eiber – ENA member organizes a Bike Eiber day to demonstrate and promote bicycle use with Light Rail for Sustainability Program credits
Outstanding Sustainable Neighborhood– on behalf of the neighborhood, ENA accepts city award recognizing Eiber as the first neighborhood to achieve an Outstanding status under the Sustainable Neighborhoods Program
2014
City of Lakewood Comprehensive Plan – ENA reviews comprehensive plan; raises concerns about exclusion of Neighborhood Plans from the Comp Plan; advocates for commitment from city to engage neighborhoods in development design review process; amendments sponsored by Mayor Pro Tem and approved by City Council
RTD mitigation efforts – ENA continues to advocate for mitigation of nuisances associated with LRT in neighborhood sections
W Colfax historic structures survey – ENA endorses survey of historic structures along, and one block north and south of, W Colfax in Lakewood; ENA member participates in survey process

RTD mitigation efforts continue – outdoor announcements around Garrison St Station are reduced; vacant property at 1301 Garrison across from station cleaned up and opportunities for vagrancy are eliminated
Bicycle Shelter at Garrison St LRT Station – city finalizes plans and constructs bike shelter across from Garrison Station, culminating several years of work between ENA, RTD and Lakewood
Eiber Historical Survey – ENA advocates for historical survey of Eiber neighborhood with the Historic Preservation Commission; endorses city request for state grant funds to conduct survey
Planning cases
ENA endorses neighbors’ petition to city to rezone 1300 block of Holland St from Multifamily to Single Family to reflect actual land use and protect against high density intrusion into historic single family zone
ENA initiates efforts to build coalition of four neighborhoods around Colfax and Wadsworth to address common concerns of high density development as envisioned by the city’s comprehensive plan
ENA negotiates with JeffCo Corrections, City of Lakewood, and developer of proposed move of halfway house from JCRS to commercial area near 6th Ave and Oak St, to mitigate negative impacts of the project; succeeds in obtaining conditions placed on development by city; special use permit is denied by planning commission
ENA endorses special use permit requests for two indoor storage units on Colfax, at Holland St and at Iris St; both developments receive cautious support from neighbors; developments are recognized as not best use of properties envisioned by Colfax Revitalization efforts, but are a start and better than the current state of the properties; ENA adopts position that no more than these two storage facilities should be permitted in this area
ENA begins work on assessing risks of high density subsidized housing development around Eiber Elementary
